I believe that this year’s season may be Coach Ds best so far. A team does not survive mentally with what these kids have been through without a leader that they believe in and trust. Mike hasn’t quit believing in them and obviously they have not given up on him.
In the Air Force you learn flying is easy when no one is shooting at you. And managing in a natural resource company teaches you life is simple when your commodity prices are high. Coach is working with missiles flying by and low commodity prices. I have no idea how NIL will impact this crew, but we’ll have some seasoned young people next year.
Of course, missiles can hit and low commodity prices can bankrupt you, so there is that.

Great perspective that has given me some hope for next year. Now if we can just retain most of these players and if Des could simply give up play calling to an offensive coordinator. It is clear Des can motivate the team and the players love him. The next element in Des becoming a better coach is giving up the play calling. Doubt it will happen.

I really thought the pass interference that got them to the 2 was bs. Our player was going for the ball, but there were lots of calls like that and no calls in the game. The refs were trying to prove a point since they got called out for ____ing up at the end of the UL TXS game, if #0 was ejected for throwing punches while UL was in the victory formation then the fight would have never happened, and the refs know they ____ed it up, so they tried to prove a point by calling a one sided game this week as punishment for getting called out all over media and calls to the conference office

Go back and watch PI call. Hand full of jersey and was late turning around usually gets called every time.

Was a good PI on UL’s part, probably a catch if not.

Defense was rather amazing ... when all factors are considered.

And one of the field goals was already set up by offense fumble. When recovered, Arky St was already in FG range. Defense made me really nervous on last drive but upon further review, they played a really good game especially in limiting damage.
Our special teams need more work to become consistent. But that 50 yard FG turned out to be critical.
