60's comments were more related to leadership from the coaching staff vs in game decisions. There is ZERO doubt these guys play with passion for each other and their coaches. Also, they are in on the battle until the final whistle. All cajun fans should be thrilled with the way this bunch represents the brand from that aspect. Considering the circumstances, last night's victory was as satisfying for this long time fan as any in recent memory.
Only the player who fumbles can advance the ball within the last 2 minutes of a half. Therefore, the officials should probably have blown the whistle as soon it was obvious Raynor would not be able to recover it. The late whistle is one reason A State fans are upset on some social media platforms. They believe a penalty should have been called on the Cajuns sideline for entering the field before the game was officially over. In all the confusion, our guys probably could not hear the whistle and assumed the game was over as forward progress had been stopped. Someone mentioned to me today that the replay guys may have confirmed the fumble and concluded game was over at that point. It was a quick decision. Probably not a factor in the potential penalty from our sideline as I don't think you can invoke a non called penalty upon review. Regardless, some A State fans are furious no penalty was called on our sideline for entering field early.
Whats the SBC west 4-way tiebreaker?
How could they be furious? No one was there. (Except a State Trooper in the end zone). Lunch shook his hand to thank him for coming to the game.
Neither was the kickoff return. Defense held when it really counted. And we won a close one on the road! Nice!!
