Could you imagine something like this on the street lamps around campus and the athletic complex?

Since it represents the school itself. We are Louisiana!

The Valley Bulldog is thought to have originated in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada thus giving it the name “Valley Bulldog”.

The genetic origin and foundation of the Valley Bulldog was established on and incorporated the Bulldog and the Boxer. These two breeds were used because of the Boxer’s athletic ability and exceptional temperament and the Bulldog’s courageous and unwavering spirit.
That's a great dog, but it was developed as a breed in the 1900's long after we were there.

As long as I see headlines stating "Cajuns Beat A-State" or any fill in the blank "Nickname beats School" I am reminded that the media value is missing the mark.

'Cajuns beat school' is like a kite without a tail. No direction.

I've long said the same thing. If we are trying to brand Louisiana, we are doing it backwards.

What if we look at this in a different light? Maybe the name we should have has been staring us in the face all along?

    Cajuns

    Slang for Acadians.

    From where?

    Acadiana

Speaking of marketing...or lack thereof... i only see one tweet by espn regarding the cajuns game last night, and it was the ark st kick return for td.... they are obliged to put SBC on air, but dont have to let people know game is coming on?? Then will say SBC doesnt get good ratings, geaux figure
