I’ve been harping on this for years and it’s not about the Lafayette area itself. The issue is marketing. It’s about relevance, visibility, and brand strategy. UL ranks dead last in market value because we’ve failed to position ourselves as a major player. We’re not selling the full story.

We need to put Louisiana front and center. The name carries weight, heritage, and statewide pride. Promoting “Louisiana” elevates the brand beyond a regional footprint it signals ambition, unity, and cultural depth.

Let me put it another way: you’ve got to think like an SEC school. Right now, we present ourselves like a bush-league mid-major. That mindset shows up in everything from how we brand athletics to how we engage the national conversation.

The “Ragin’ Cajuns” identity is great it’s unique, it’s spirited but if that’s all we promote, it risks feeling small-time. It’s not enough to lean on tradition; we need to scale it, evolve it, and connect it to something bigger.

That’s why I harp on this so much. I’m not just a guy throwing out logos I’m trying to build a brand that commands respect, drives value, and makes people care. Market value follows relevance. And relevance starts with bold, strategic identity.

I know i said it before ULM does a better job then what we do when it comes to marketing themselves!

We do not have a logo that says the name of the school!!

Do i need to show examples of. Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Ole Miss or any other state in these United States and how they market themselves?

Houston Cajun Understands totally!! Which is the reason he probably brought this up!
    Got any cool uniform ideas?

Doing less with more is very frustrating

Just put a “L” on a few types of headgear and be done. It’s not that hard.

If Louisiana did what I suggested years ago and continued to suggest it could have among the largest media values in NCAA sports.

Start a French broadcast and alternate playing a game annually in Quebec and Paris.

    Oui!

We need to fully embrace our French heritage!

We should be embarrassed that we don't have a French broadcast of the game.

And playing a Zydeco song once a game does NOT cut it. At lease HALF of the music selections during the game should be Cajun/Zydeco.

The best spirit shirts we ever sold were the ones during the Hud years that had the Frnch words on it, Combattre, etc.
