This looks like it was put together just to ____ with Louisiana

“Our relationship with Learfield has provided enormous growth and unlocked new opportunities for revenue generation...” said Bryan Maggard
I'd hate to see the pre Learfield media valuation
What's the source and metrics for this listing besides it comes out of JMU? Skeptical. . . take it with a grain of salt.
Now we'd be first place in analysis of self inflicted wounds but that's for another thread.
When one subsidies a study, the provider knows the desired results.
Bigger question is how does jmu stack up in its own state...
Regardless if they are being aided or not, they certainly arent being attacked by state neighbors, nor do any seem to do so in the commonwealth
I’ve been harping on this for years and it’s not about the Lafayette area itself. The issue is marketing. It’s about relevance, visibility, and brand strategy. UL ranks dead last in market value because we’ve failed to position ourselves as a major player. We’re not selling the full story.
We need to put Louisiana front and center. The name carries weight, heritage, and statewide pride. Promoting “Louisiana” elevates the brand beyond a regional footprint it signals ambition, unity, and cultural depth.
Let me put it another way: you’ve got to think like an SEC school. Right now, we present ourselves like a bush-league mid-major. That mindset shows up in everything from how we brand athletics to how we engage the national conversation.
The “Ragin’ Cajuns” identity is great it’s unique, it’s spirited but if that’s all we promote, it risks feeling small-time. It’s not enough to lean on tradition; we need to scale it, evolve it, and connect it to something bigger.
That’s why I harp on this so much. I’m not just a guy throwing out logos I’m trying to build a brand that commands respect, drives value, and makes people care. Market value follows relevance. And relevance starts with bold, strategic identity.
I know i said it before ULM does a better job then what we do when it comes to marketing themselves!
We do not have a logo that says the name of the school!!
Do i need to show examples of. Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Ole Miss or any other state in these United States and how they market themselves?
Houston Cajun Understands totally!! Which is the reason he probably brought this up!
I give you one better its even hard for me to even name a school in DI-A that doesnt even have some type of acronym, letter or logo that doesn’t actually represents the name of the school itself. They might spell it out but it’s under 7 letters! Its hard for me to even think of one! I can name one for sure that doesnt and that is UL!
