This stuff is why we have such apathy toward the program..

Every team on that list (except maybe Memphis) has a fanbase that is ready to fire the coach and burn the stadium down if they end up in the Independence Bowl. 6-6 is an abysmal failure for all of them, and they play exponentially harder schedules.

Yet here we are patting ourselves on the back and breaking out the old "doing more with less" shirts

You can bet that the first words out of Maggard's mouth at next year's fan day will be some bull____ about this meaningless bowl game streak and how we're gonna compete real hard to keep that going... to a smattering of applause from the 200 diehard old people in attendance

The “all or nothing” attitude in sports is what makes the fans of every team except one miserable. It amazes me that as a society people don’t realize more than one thing can be true at the same time. A bowl game is not the ultimate goal but it’s okay to point out that 126 other teams in the country haven’t done it 8 times in a row. If it really was that easy to do sure seems like the list would be a lot longer than 10.

I wish the term "Student Athlete" would be banned from use anywhere when referencing collegiate sports at the P4/P6/FCS level (see the article above and many more)! Are they not aware of NIL, pay-for-play and the use of the transfer portal?

Nah…we really don’t. We are the villain in this state. Make no mistake about that. We are the most hated University and athletics program and it’s not even close.

Embrace it, but the play better be able to back it up.
