On a serious note! Are we really looking at seven bowl-eligible teams for the Sunbelt?

Tulane seems primed to lock down that 12 playoff spot. But with the Sunbelt boasting so many bowl-eligible programs, if JMU wins the Sun Belt, wouldn’t they have a legitimate case to slide into that coveted No. 12 spot instead of Tulane?

American i think will have 7 bowl eligible teams as well? The only reason on keeping JMU out is SOS becauae they will have a better record then Tulane.

I guess my real question is this: how do they justify calling the American a “better” conference when we have just as many bowl-eligible teams as they do? If JMU wins the Sun Belt, they’d actually have a better record than Tulane so wouldn’t that strengthen their case for the No. 12 spot?

Play calling at end was highly questionable yet again. But hey we won. Bowl bound baby! This year was insane. 4 game win streak and hoping Lunch is ok!

We haven’t had a losing regular season since 2017. Geaux Cajuns

No. North Texas is locked in the American championship game. Tulane will beat a horrific Charlotte team today to fill the other spot. Winner will be the G7 rep in the CFP.

JMU has zero notable wins. Their impressive OOC win…Washington State, who is 5-6, who lost to 0-8 Sam Houston at home. Loss is to unranked Louisville.

I wonder why we just didn't kick the field goal after Walker Howard ran for first down at the five. If you go for field goal on any down other than fourth down do you get another try?

Only if the snap is mishandled and the kick isn’t attempted

While I don’t disagree with you about JMU having no good wins, that same Washington state team took both Virginia and ole miss to the wire. It really sucks that you can lose to a utsa team by 20 that one of the sun belts worst teams beat and still be the lead team for the playoff spot. Tulane will get boat raced by whoever they play if they make it. Same with unt

As would we if the chips ever fall for us to be ever be in that position. Regardless, I’d sure like to be in a position to get skull drug in the playoffs.

Hate to admit it but Tulane scheduled wonderfully. Beat Duke who will finish 7-5. Beat Northwestern who is 6-6. Hit the jackpot on “p4” teams you could beat that are not terrible.

JMU probably scheduled WSU years ago before the PAC 12 dissolved. Could have been a better win. Don’t know that for sure, but schedules are made years in advance. Should have beat Louisville who’s an 8-4 ACC team.

I hate that the sunbelt has to go undefeated to have a shot at the CFP most years.

The only thing for Tulane is that UTSA loss. That’s a bad loss. They will no doubt make that up and clinch it if they beat a good UNT.
