The McNeese coach was Will Wade's top assistant at LSU. They have a couple of players back from last year's team. The Cowboy pure freshman from Georgia named Johnson may have been the best player on the court. Great pickup for the Cowboys. The dribble drive offense off the weave the Cajuns are trying to employ was well scouted by McNeese. Many turnovers or very contested shots came from the pressure the Cowboys put on the Cajuns defensively. Much of their offensive success was due to the struggles the Cajuns had on offense. They were able get in transition and score easily. The Mullett is right in that the team may need to get QUALITY bigs from the portal to turn this around.

Aren’t we lacking a quality big, a quality power forward, a quality slashing forward, and another quality shooter?

The fish was stale and rotten. Then you add in the entitlement mentality of his spouse and his inner circle...it was time to go. Program needed a reset.

looks like some are still reserving judgment until they believe we have moved out of the "stale and rotten" phase that people here are still complaining about

The program needed a reset. The results of the new coaching staff, this season or long-term, don't negate that. Just because the new hire may or may not work out doesn't necessarily mean the original stale fish should have been retained.
