You are making a good point and it’s understandable. My daughter was a cheerleader at Teurlings a few years ago and we went to all of the games. Before the game started, Teurlings listed all of the starters on the scoreboard. All were from the feeder schools of St Leo, St Gen, St Bernard, and a couple from St Cecilia. Teurlings (and St Thomas More) each have a great feeder school system.

I’ll admit Lafayette High Soccer used the gifted program as a tool to build their rosters in the 00’s. However, with the GT program back then, you had to academically qualify and also be tested, not simply declare.

Wouldnt there have been more complaints if more of the starters had been from public middle schools, lol

I understand that it is now Bunkie Magnet High School, but these public magnet schools can only get kids from the Parish they are in in this case just Avoyelles Parish.
The private Catholic and Christian schools can pull kids from anywhere, have tons of money, and are actually paying their kids and kids families along w/ Free tuition. public Magnet schools and private schools should not be in the same division for playoffs.

When I went to Jesuit, there were students, some athletes, some not, who were there on a scholarship, based on work they got to do in our cafeteria. This has been done for kids from low-income families since long before I went to school there. I don't know if any of the other Catholic schools do that, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do.

Same at Brother Martin. I knew many at BM who were on scholarship and worked in the cafeteria.
