....I'm assuming and I hope. Money has become tight and population has decreased. Put egos aside and consolidate to share resources.
Also, UL Hammond. UL Central Louisiana would be better than UL Natchitoches.

LA Tech stays the same name. Boy, would it ____ them off to rename them to UL Ruston. They will have a hard enough problem accepting UL as the Flag Ship of the ULS. But, we are the only R1 university and largest school in the system. It is a no-brainer.

Dude…our Governor is concerned only with what gets him national attention, whether Fox News or Pat McAfee. That’s become blatantly obvious.

Any of you left who still think he’s some big Ragin Cajun/UL backer who is going to use the office to elevate our brand are more like folks lining up thinking an alien spaceship is going to take them to a promised land.

Jeff Landry only cares about what promotes him and his brand on a national level, and sadly (or fortunately) enough, we’re not that relevant for him to get involved in our university to that level.

I still think he needs to be pushed in our direction. If he refuses, so be it. But to just assume non-action on his part is foolish.

    vertically integrated university system
Besides VIP programs, are there examples of "vertically integrated university system" that doesn't have a flagship?

What does this mean and how is it likely to screw UL?
I'm not sure the effort is malicious. The Chair is Mark Romero, one of our alums; and backing him up is the governor, another alum. People here have been critical, but in BR there has been a growing awareness that Louisiana has become a 2-school state... and that UL is passing LSU up academically.

I suspect that this is actually designed to strengthen UL. I just hope it is not as short-sighted as we have been in the past, that we bolster UL by undermining other schools.

We need to get past the idea that is good to be atop the heap, even thought it's a garbage heap. We need stronger schools for the future of our state, not weaker.

Has UL named a permanent President yet? I haven't seen anything on it.
