It’s time for a new larger scoreboard.
You keep saying this, but the reality is they are going to struggle mightily to score the basketball. They have to push the ball in transition. Damn near every team we are going to play has a whole new roster. Ball State had that as well and exploited the high pressure defense. Tulane did the same late in the game. 2 ball screens, got the switch they wanted and went downhill. It will be the same thing every night until we show we can move our feet on the defensive end.
I know alot of you cats are tempted....but DONT press it.
we didnt have our starting PG or his back up Bilal. We are also down a big. This team will get better offensively. we have a whole new roster, entirely new coaching staff and entirely new scheme. Marlin team would have been embarrassed last night. Keep the faith. Geaux Cajuns!
I watched some positives last night, I like this team, and they will be better by conference play. They lost to a pretty good Tulane team last night by 4 points. If we hit FT's we win the game. Defense is good, but foul trouble killed us, Tulane does not miss FT's and we did. That was the difference in the game. Tulane went 21-27 from the FT line and we went 11-21. They outscored us by 10 from the FT line. If we shoot 76% from the line (5 more FT's) we win the game.
So now 63-70 total for tulane, down to 90 pct??
So, we can't shoot free throws, we can't hit forced jump shots, defense is iffy and we foul way too much, and we have no offensive scheme, just stand around and one guys goes isolation to only miss a shot with no one to rebound. Sounds about what I have seen in 3 games. They have to get better because they can't get much worse. How is this different from Marlin's teams?
