The problem is that according to the contract, he must be notified that the firing is "for cause" within 7 days. Now that the deadline has passed, TSAB is saying that he wasn't officially fired just yet. I read quotes from a lawyer that handles these situations, and he said no school has ever won in court when trying to not pay a buyout for cause. Now I see why he sent the email after the meeting asking for confirmation that he was fired. His lawyer knew what was going to happen and they're prepared.

…..Well I was thinking differently and have no idea….BUT…..I think Coach is ____ed at the way it has come down (getting fired after not doing too bad and maybe not gettin the backing as needed…..some have said not the substantial money for NIL ) so with this and the cause factor in his favor (I have done nothing wrong except loose football games while fighting injuries to post season award candidates)……his lawyers see $$$$ and the possibility like Trump to bring character ascertains by LSU……can only guess the amount….need some expert opinions on this…… thoughts???

Actually sounds like good news for tsab, any amount they pay to Kelly less than the 53, since nobody knows the real amount, the difference between what is really paid and 54 is now their off the books slush fund....wow the rich get richer

The problem with that is that none of those cases have involved an essentially out of state plaintiff vs LSU in a Louisiana courtroom where everyone in the room except Kelly and [maybe] his lawyer will be wearing LSU themed underwear.

Kelly won't care. Even if his winnings only total 50 million, and he has a 40% contingency contract, he will still have around 20 million left after taxes. Plus the millions he has already made. AND, he still will have stuck TSAB with a 50 million tab.
