Yes matches against East Division schools like Ga Southern count towards the Sun Belt record.
But not towards SBC championship placement.

I just researched, and I stand corrected. Unbelievable. So why would the league have teams play the east division schools?

Might as well do home and homes and play 4 matches against each division opponent. Clearly the coaches and/or ADs voted for this nonsense.

College athletics is something else. They can find more ways to waste money than even the government.

I don't know that either, I just found out about it last week and was perplexed. In fact during the ULM series that is exactly what they were saying that the regular season ends next week, but we should know who is seeded where by Saturday afternoon when the games this week were over because every team in the conference is playing a cross divisional opponent next week, so none of those games mean a hill of beans when it comes to seeding unless possibly that is a 4th or 5th tiebreaker, when it comes to a 3 way tie and I am not sure about that. That might be the holdup, it might be that this week is going to separate UL, USM and Troy.

    UPDATE:

This is a crazy situation. Up until yesterday, every time I looked at the conference standings the SBC site had UL, Troy and USM tied at 5-7 but as of today, Troy stands at 6-6 meaning they would be in and it would then come down to a head to head vs USM for us and we lost both to USM meaning that I personally think we are out. Since only the top 10 teams (5 from each division) make the tournament. Very disappointing for the girls.

Playing better today. Tied 2-2 but had great chance to take fourth game but a few errors at end cost us. It would have given us a 3-1 win. Not sure if we can handle their power in fifth game.

Wow. Came back to win fifth game and set 15-13. Gutsy performance.

Well, after being up 2 sets to none, UL comes from behind in the fifth set to win 3-2 over the host team Georgia Southern. Geaux Cajuns!!!
