Thread: Cajun V-Ball

    UL Volleyball Cajun V-Ball

I ran into 4 of the girls from the UL volleyball team Saturday at the game, 4 very nice young ladies, might I add. I congratulated them for getting into the SBC tournament and told them to go win that thing, they informed me that the SBC has not made a decision yet on who is the 4th and 5th teams in the SBC West because it was a 3-way tie. My understanding is the tournament is based on only on your inter division games, not overall SBC games. How can all of your west division games be over and you still can't decide who is in the tournament. I know everyone has games this weekend but every game is a cross-division opponent so it should have nothing to do with final standings.

The 3 team tiebreaker does end up taking out of division matches into account down the line. I値l try to figure it out when I get back to the office later.

I am not sure who the 4th lady was, but I know it was Chelsea Gilmore, Nene Hawkins and Caillin Demps for sure.

They hosed ULM WSOC in seedings NOBODY could understand. ULM was in first place via points all alone at the end of the regular season composite standings as per the SBC. They got the third seed.

Of course the fourth seed won the tournament, Texas State over ULM in the final.

Not much this conference does makes any sense.

In 2005 the SBC told ULM they could not be considered for "Regular Season" Champs in football because they were not elegible for post season.

The SBC is a head scratcher.

I知 presuming all Sun Belt games count towards postseason tournament seeding. I知 betting the intra-division matches only come into play for tiebreakers once the regular season is done.

Nope that is not the case only intra division games count toward seedings unless it is a 3 way tie.

It痴 not being hosed whenever the rules were put in place before the season started and did not change.

I値l try to clarify. The conference regular season is not over. UL is 6-8 in conference and plays Ga Southern this week. Win them both, and they will be 8-8.

Yes matches against East Division schools like Ga Southern count towards the Sun Belt record.
