The whole article is basically this:

it’s the whole concept of G6 actually competing for a NC as opposed to playing in the NC playoff scheme - the G6 will aways and I mean always be a team playing in the NC playoff scheme de jur as opposed to a team playing for a NC

  2. Default Re: JMU

All this ends the day the SEC commissioner perceives one of his top teams gets left out the CFP.

12 team CFP has accomplished one of its objectives: How can we entertain the notion that any FBS team could play for Natty, a guaranteed slot for top G6. Is every program talking about the College Football Playoffs? Yes. Will an unstoppable perfect wide open machine beating every opponent in their schedule, theoretically have a chance to play for the baddest trophy there is? yes, there is a path. Will it happen, no.

    Not accurate and not true.

Actually, the term "does not belong" predates by a long shot any playoff/competing for a NC discussions.

"Does not belong" has always had "on the same field" connotations.

They can only get 8 at most, he already thinks that. Even all 12 spots isnt enough for him

Because they can’t compete for the ultimate prize - otherwise one would have to maintain that the sole purpose for playing the game is for fun - and that has not been the case in any sport since there was mankind - touche

Louisiana should have won the National Title for the 1943 season.

Notre Dame and LSU both declined to play them them. It was a season where schedules were made as the season went along.

Louisiana went undefeated, had the best 'relative' group of players the country has ever seen and yet they were given no consideration.

Obviously there is more at play here (then and now) than deserving.

Who did they play in '43?

After a quick Google search, I'd say it was fair that they didn't get consideration.
Victories verses Lake Charles AAF, Fort Benning, Randolf field, Southwest Texas, and a tie vs Arkansas A&M does not scream beast team in America
