Albineaux Makes his Tailgate Debut

I will be honest, I love the Albineaux costume and I love the concept, but I will be truly honest by saying that the character had no enthusiasm. Albineaux came by my tailgate spot and had very little charisma. Look, I didn't expect the Fabulous Cajun Chicken, but for your first game and introduction to Cajun Nation, I would have expected the character to be much more jovial, and I did not get that from the person inside the costume. He did take pictures with the little ones we had at the site and high fived, but I was looking for some real "over the topness" with this character. I saw Albineaux later walking around and still the same lack of enthusiasm to be the character.

I realize I will probably get roasted for this take, especially by the Ragin Review group, but that is my honest opinion. I was super excited to see Albineaux and I just expected, more.

I am sure Al is open to critics. HE will get better. He is a little shy at first.

I agree with you to a point Turbine, but if this was going to be your debut I don't expect FCC, but I expect a little more life out of you, just walking around taking pictures seems blah.....

Lots of room for growth for sure. Again, I loved the costume, and I loved the concept, but I want more out of a mascot.

Cory makes movies, I expect props in Albineaux's future.

I just don't want to unfairly compare him to the best 'showboat' mascot that ever existed.

Becoming a character with a personality is acting. Making a costume and being a costume are different. This was stage 1. Great start. Al has to now develop into whatever it will be. I’m just so glad I got to see stage 1. Great start.

Could Al be featured with a skit on the baseball field during the pep rally at Russo Park? This would attract and excite the fans.

I'd imagine he was a little nervous and wanted to get a feel for how Al would be received in public. There were some vocal "haters" on social media leading up to this. Glad to hear that he was well received by the intended audience (kids) and hope the character continues to grow and develop
