So, you're saying what? We lost an 18 point lead in short time because of play calling. We abandoned our gameplan and went with a predictable running game that was eaten up and possession was given up. We won late on the last drive by going back to some passing. Guess what? We have other receivers outside of Sampson. We never should have abandoned this approach and Des even admitted this in his post game interview.
What began as a high-scoring battle ended with tempers flaring as Louisiana survived a second-half surge from Texas State, escaping with a 42-39 win Saturday night.
This team plays ultra hard for Lunch. Lunch is a vocal leader that we need. He just fits in perfect on the Cajuns. He engages the fan is very positive. He is a true leader. You can't teach to lead, it just has to be in you. It is in Lunch.
These threads are always a great read a few days after the game.
-Yes, play calling changes when you’re up 3 scores.
-Sampson is showing his true abilities now that he’s getting healthy.
-INTs helped them in field position & quick scores. Should have been completions.
-Those TxSt white dudes stressed me out in the second half.
-Parking lot parties are fun again
-CAJUNS WIN
Lunch is only going to get better. We need to keep him. And bring in some good receivers.
