Caden Jensen talked about the 2nd pick on a Ragin Review interview last night. He said the second pick was entirely his fault. Simply put, he believes he should have held on to the ball as it hit his hands.

Good to Jensen getting some looks although he could be a much bigger weapon for us if we really used him, especially in the redzone

100% correct. A healthy Sampson is our best receiver. The very predictable, bad play calling in the 2nd half last night almost cost us the game. Is Des just too hard headed to stop playing to lose, and give up the play calling himself?

He mentioned this in his post game interview. He said he should have been more aggressive. I don't agree with that per se. I just think he should have committed to running our normal offense that is more balanced.

whole damn comeback from TXST was initiated by 6 dropping another pass In His Hands.

That's not play calling, that's called not executing the play.

This "play calling" has become so out of control that folks get on this board and instantly jump on this theory.

If the route is run accurately, time machines perform their function and pass from Lunch to Sampson ends in 6 dropping the ball, that's is not a bad play call, that is called non-execution.

I'm not saying that im not ____ed. I'm not saying that Dez is close to perfect. What I am saying is that this OMG PLAY CALLING! is simply ridiculous to say when the ball is hitting these receivers in-between the numbers. Who gives a damn what the play was when it was not executed. Now, if our WR corps were making catches (CATCHING THE BALL) and gains were not moving the chains, or our WRs were getting smoked from 2 throwing up "hospital balls", then yes, that is unproductive and dangerous play calling. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Catch ball, Cajuns win. Drop passes, Cajuns don't win.

Of course I know this doesn't fit the accepted narrative of OMG PLAY CALLING! from damn near everybody and there will be many responses saying WTF that's blasphemy! Guess what, I could give a ____.

So, you're saying what? We lost an 18 point lead in short time because of play calling. We abandoned our gameplan and went with a predictable running game that was eaten up and possession was given up. We won late on the last drive by going back to some passing. Guess what? We have other receivers outside of Sampson. We never should have abandoned this approach and Des even admitted this in his post game interview.

We are not scheduled to play Tx State next season due to their departure to a different conference. Perhaps we play them in non conference.

Man, I was totally stressed out in the second half. We couldn't stop them, and we couldn't establish any drives, and there was plenty of time.

We stepped it up on that last drive, aided by their penalties, but we got the "W"!
