Agree on stricter rules needed....but look how easily they avoided simple rules, that really werent really even money related decades ago. Or ncaa just asks people to self report.
    - going to class
    - practice time limits
    - first day of start of practice season
    - no names on jerseys sold to fans (pre nil)
    - volunteer coaches
    - number of coaches
    - analysts not coaching directly
    - uniform rules
    - ops and logistics personnel being extra coaches
    - grad assistant coaches not actually going to grad skool
    - grad transfers not actually going to grad school

Also Q about the opt out exception for a coach leaving...how about tweak it for a new coach arriving. Might be same most of the time but could be a nuanced difference to try to curtail/delay coaches taking players directly

This part actually occurred....used to be 30 day portal window when coach leaves, now it is only a 15 day window not until new coach hired.....seems if you dont want your players to leave, dont hire...maybe keep the asst with interim tag until regular portal opens.

Good to see the NCAA is still holding universities responsible for APR…

How do football players transfer from year to year with no limitations to good academic schools and are immediately accepted? How do their credits transfer? Do they ever graduate? This supposed to be college, not semi-pro ball. College football is now a joke and the joke is on the G6.

There is going to have to be a separation of P4 and G6 conferences with national championships for each. The Power schools will not allow 2 G6 schools to ever get in again and likely no G6 schools allowed in a year or so. How does a school like UL with a $40M budget compete with the elites with $200+M budgets. We can't and need to compete at our level. We find and/or develop good players only to lose them to the highest bidder. The G6 has become a feeder system for the P4. And, lets call this NC what is, a P4 NC. The G6 need not apply and won't be eligible to participate in a year or so.

Set up a 16 team G6 National Championship and crown a NC, something we and no other G6 team will never win under the P4 regime. We may not like it, but it is coming. The top P4 coaches and ex-coaches like Nick Saban are already talking about it. It is just a matter of time. I've already posted a 16 team playoff scenario a few weeks ago. I'll post it again under a different thread that leads to a NC game, JMU v. Tulane for the sake of an example, as both made the P4 NC this year.

That would be useless. Players would be portalling out before and during the G6 playoff, whether their team is in the playoff or not.

College football has become idiotic now. We have coached at Ole Miss abandoning their players as they get ready for the semifinals, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Ole Miss’s stud RB abandons his teammates and opts out so he doesn’t risk injury for his Baton Rouge payday next season.

The title of the thread is accurate when it comes to the Cajuns in one aspect. The NIL money needed to truly compete does not exist in this community.

Our cracker jack administration does not help either.
