This is bad news for La State fans/athletics and TBH, I'm here for it. It's a bad recipe for the Governor to get this involved and even worse if he's openly saying that the current AD (who from what I hear is a damn good AD) wont hire the coach. I expect him to be gone by the end of this fiscal year either on his own terms or fired. Regardless, any current sitting AD who has the experience to run an athletics department like LSU, will not want to touch that job. They will have to hire a lacky who will "get in line" and when that happens, it will be a disaster. Being an AD is WAY more than just hiring coaches. I wouldn't be surprised if they went after someone who will bend the knee with zero athletic administration experience.

He also said that taxpayers are paying for Kelly's buyout which is not correct. I'm not surprised that he wants to spin it that way, but that isn't how it works and if you're a sitting GOV, you would know that. If the taxpayers are paying for his buyout, pass a tax in Lafayette Parish to buyout Dez.

My worry is that GJL will listen to LSU Board and give us a lacky with no experience who will gut everything out of UL because you know LSU would do that in a heartbeat. Who would have thought that potentially UL's worst enemy will be one of our own.

I got news for you CC. No matter how it's laundered, that buyout money will be coming from the sweat of every single Louisianian's drawers & socks & we got no say so about it. I for one am damn glad the governor is sticking his nose where it don't belong on this one. It was absolutely insane to offer a 60 plus year old man a ten year hundred million dollar guaranteed contract. It was even more insane that idiot bought out a great coach just after having fielded the greatest football team in NCAA history who was a son of this state for 20 million more dollars to do it after using every dirty trick in the book to put him over a barrel. Give Ed Orgeron Jayden Daniels & he wins you a second national title. Then they'd still be ____ing & moaning to run him off anyway. Those idiots may eventually realize this isn't Alabama when we're all in the poor house from paying off yankee carpet baggers looking to grab a golden parachute on the way out the door.

Jeff Landry needs to do the Governments work, fix our taxes of Louisiana citizens and companies. Mike Moreno, once said when in a meeting with Tony Robichaux, and other baseball committee members, that he had like 35 friends from UL that own Oil Companies, and were all wanting and willing to Move at least part of their companies to the Lafayette area, IF our State officials would change OUR tax structure to be more like Texas. These UL grads are ready to move back home to retire! What a boost that would be to the Lafayette community, University of Louisiana and the oil industry in Acadiana and our state! Lets GEAUX Landry! Leave the Tiger and LSU Coaching searches alone.
