Based on the preseason poll, no one really has any idea. Eight teams got at least one first-place vote, including the UL Ragin’ Cajuns.

Tip off times were announced yesterday. Strange in that many Saturday games will be played in the afternoon. This is probably an experiment that I predict will not turn out to be successful regardless of how the team plays.

The team plays an exhibition game at North Texas next week (October 29). Now, you can play D1 teams in exhibitions and have results made known. It will be interesting to see how that turns out. Some closed scrimmages do occur as well.

Craig Melancon and I are preparing a podcast for next week which we hope to release prior to the exhibition. We will review the roster and predict the rotation. Note, the rotation prediction will be simply ours and nothing official. We could be completely wrong on that. In other basketball news, the fund raising banquet/auction is set for tomorrow night at the football stadium. Hopefully, that will be successful.

Someone reminded me today that the great majority are of SBC school play there home Saturday basketball games in the afternoon. I presume this is due to improving the travel situation for the visiting team.

I like the enthusiasm, but we have heard this many times, more recently on football.
