a beat-up Lunch Winfield started Saturday’s game for the Cajuns. But off target during the first half, Desormeaux elected to insert Howard into the game when the Cajuns faced a two-minute situation with 1:24 left in the second quarter.

He looked pretty good to me. I remember at least 3 drops that were in the receivers hands on that one drive alone that stifled everything. He made some good progressions and throws, they just didn't bring them in.
He looked good to me too other than the bad decision to throw that last pass over the middle.
I thought he should have started the 2bd half.
Lunch doesn't read defenses or get through his progressions. If his 1st guy isn't open he either back peddles, takes off, or throws into double coverage.
Agree. Couple of drops before the bad decision on the interception.
I like Lunch a lot. But he has not progressed enough with his reads passing. Too often just looks at primary target and throws or runs. Good example (granted it’s 1 play): rolls right throws to tightly covered receiver near the sideline while 2nd receiver trailing that route is clearly open for much easier reception. Not like he had to change his view more than 10-20 degrees. Just seems tunnel vision to 1 target. Polar opposite last season with Ben in particular. Dude seemed to see all the options and made excellent decisions. Yes, maturity had a lot to do with that but Lunch has been in the system long enough. He just needs to make this improvement much quicker for the offense to perform better as a whole.
Howard looked good but I can't see how anyone on offense would want to play for him. Did anyone notice the temper tantrum he threw every time a pass wasn't caught? Sure most of them should have been caught but he wasn't throwing that same tantrum when he threw the INT.
He made good passes. Easily catchable by average receivers. The interception was thrown too far into a strong wind. If our receivers can’t catch, we would get the same result with Drew Brees playing QB. We are more than half way through the season and still have a lot of stuff to correct.
