Over the last 20 years we have had 7 losing seasons. Desormeaux has coached 4 of them.
We’ve had 9 winning seasons during that time frame.
Bustle: 1
HUD: 4
Napier: 3
Dez: 1
The program has evolved and grown into the premier program in the SBC West since Hudspeth took over.
Yet, we will allow it to fall back to mediocrity under Desormeaux.
This may be the weakest OL and receiving corp since bustle was coach. Couple that with unsteady QB play and I’m not sure any coach in the country would be winning much. Now, if Des can’t properly utilize portal to build a team up this offseason, it’s probably time to go. Or time to accept that we don’t have the money to compete in this era.
Most of us here know the best advertising for the university is a successful athletics program. We experience success then seem to coast. In business when you experience success, that's when you press your advantage. Can't think of why should be any different in college athletics. If we are highly successful in men's basketball, Coach White will only be here 3 to 4 years. Its alright will cheer him on. When Napier left we had built up a hard earned advantage and squandered it. A real head scratcher. Was hopeful it would work out, but now football future looks dim. Its fixable but how long will fans have to wait for it? New University president whomever it is needs to embrace winning athletics as BIG marketing budget for UL every year.
