There is ZERO chance we make a head coaching change at the end of the season regardless of the final record. The budget deficit is a big reason why. As it is, the academic folks are up in arms about athletics not taking a big enough hit to address the problem. Many don't realize the department has taken a 4 million dollar hit. That aside, the administration will say the injuries (especially losing the starting QB in Game 1) make it difficult to judge the season. They will also say a coach deserves a chance to turn things around when one bad year occurs.

I understand people are voicing frustrations here and simply stating opinions here. That is the purpose of a message board. However, in this case those opinions are having zero impact on decisions. Now, if things are this rough a year from now, more folks in decision making authority may listen.

This offseason out of fairness to the paying customers and good of UL, the athletic director should tell CMD if the football program is not 'competing for championships' in 2026 he's out. Even if we put aside CMD's first year, the body of work is middling at best. Frankly we need to up the ante and publicly state expectations for the football program are competing for the CFP G6 berth. How else do we justify the increasing ticket/parking prices and overcame fan apathy?

Can't risk getting injured. Gotta be healthy and hope for a bigger NIL for next season from UofH, Tulane, Liberty, etc.

Coaching decisions heavily influenced the outcome of each of these games. If your philosophy is to wear teams down late in games and generally win by 10 points are less, your in game decisions as a coach have to be pretty much flawless.

Desormeaux’s are anything but flawless, there are times where we are absolutely lost on the field.

Well that's part of the problem. We've already seen the talent drop off from Napier to Des and Des cannot or has not been able to pull in the quality of assistant coaches that Napier did as well.

Correct. And Napier would have seen talent drop off as well with portal. Now would it be as severe? We don’t know.
