At Louisiana football’s media availability on Oct. 13, head coach Michael Desormeaux had an update on quarterback Walker Howard, who has been out with a torn oblique since Week 1 of the 2025 college football season.

“Walker looks like he’ll be cleared to get back into practice full go this week, which is unbelievable,” Desormeaux said.

At the halfway mark, the outlook for the rest of UL’s season looks a little better than it did three weeks ago.

But there are still many areas in need of improvement, and coach Michael Desormeaux doesn’t want his kids feeling too consoled these days.
