Colleges have to be able to figure out a way to overcome the big boys that have more NIL. With all the analytics, resesrch R1, profs, phd candidates etc on campus, way more than what billy beane had at his disposal.... the #1 seed in MLB NLCS right now had the 23rd ranked payroll. It is still possible. It is also possible it is easy to blame NIL and not look for other reasons.

Some academic folks on campus are placing a lot of blame on our problems largely on athletics. Many are unaware of the budget cuts the department has implemented. I don't know details but the budget has been reduced by 10 percent.

Perhaps but the UL academic shortfall is less than the academic cuts.

Athletics is another matter.

The allowable 3% has never been broached as far as I know.
