One could argue very little changed for the UL Ragin’ Cajuns in Saturday’s 24-14 loss to the James Madison Dukes.

For the fourth time this season, the Cajuns walked off the field without as many points as their opponent. UL is now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in Sun Belt play.

It felt like we were never composed on offense and the defense played their ass off.

Yes, but they played a team expected to beat them by at least 17.5 points. While they outscored the CAJUNS 17-0 in the second half, they still only won the game by ten. I got to watch most of the game and was proud to see how the CAJUNS played this team, in their own yard, AND on TV!!!

Nothing feels different, just another game with bonehead calls, poor play on defense, special teams and offense.

Defense played good. The DC knows what he is doing.

Special teams needs work. Bad blocking, and silly penalties.

The offense needs some tweaking. JMU has a tough run D, but I think we’re using Lunch wrong. Everybody in the stadium knew he was going to run on short yardage. We need to open it up more. Our OL is not going to power open holes anymore. Des needs to dust off that zone read option play and really let Lunch read it. We have something going with the deep pass. That can only get better the more that option run is successful. We need to quit micromanaging the offense with dump passes and designed dive runs.

Anyone who likes anything about a loss and losing doesn't understand the competive nature of sports.

Expecting the real feelings to end with coaches and players and not extend to the fans undermines what sports is all about.
