Does BWW support the cajuns? I know their store prominently displays Cajun stuff.

You are correct in that Hop's closed before Chili's opened. I remember now, but it wasn't years between the 2. Maybe a year at most, because I couldn't figure out why Hop's closed until I saw Chili's being built. They had to have known and used that as an excuse to split.

Whatever the reason, it wasn't because they weren't making money.

For the longest time I thought someone at Olde Tyme was out to get me. Everytime I'd go and get a whole shrimp I would find one oyster, what I thought to be an oyster, in there and it kinda tainted the whole food experience. Maybe it was suicidal roaches ending it all in the fryer. Ill never know. Even with that fact drilled into my skull, I could eat one right now. Mind over matter I guess. Are fried cockroaches a delicacy?

And i have worked in restaurants for 9 years now and not all of them have problems because they are a chain. most restaurants have problems because their are toooo many darn restaurants in lafayette and most of them way to close to each other. Business was great at posados for the first 6-7 years after opening and everytime a new restaurant opens, EVERY other restaurant suffers for a couple months until the "honeymoon" phase goes away...Before Picante closed a couple months ago, there were 7 tex-mex style restaurants within a mile around the mall area. Posados has been were they are for 12 years, casa ole has been there a while and Tampicos has been there many years, picante was dumb for opening up right next door to a mexican restaurant, they were never busy since they opened. Every restaurant is struggling in its own way, cut backs, new owners, and always new management. but, im always a fan of the local stores and it stinks when one who supports the cajuns so strongly go away. hopefully another baja pops up or another bar near cajun field opens and supports the cajuns 10000%. and i am also not a fan of chilis menu at all, it is really terrible. you can order 5 different types of fajitas, 5 different burgers, or get 5 different salads. i usually get appetizers cause meals arent worth it... thats just my 2 cents on this thread... _
I have visited Posado's several times over the past few months and have been impressed. They were real good when they first opened and then went south. As of late, real good, quick service and reasonable prices.

Yes Chili's sucks, dirty, poor quality and above all horrible service. That includes those in BR.

For those of you in upper lafayette , give Fezzo's in Scott a try, awesome catfish po-boy among other items.
