Double Cajun Blaze w/cheese.......BEST BURGER EVER!

My buddy and I would stock up on them. We would buy several and freeze them, then we could settle our cravings without leaving the house.

They are dirty places but the food just trumps any sanitation worries. At the chain places, i'm sorry you're food isnt good enough.

If anyone wants to spend a pretty penny, Mazen's in the old Catfish Shack is pretty good. Had a great, great after tax season meal over there last thursday night. I definetly recommend. And another thing while Im talking about places to eat. How in the hell can Southside Bakery win best burger? Its not even a burger its a loaf of bread with a patty in the middle. Judice Inn is the best burger in town. It aint the biggest but its the best. Times get it right next year. Im ranting up a storm tonight.
I have to say that I know Judice Inn is good, but I still like the burgers at Morvants in Youngsville. They are not quite what they were years back as Bero's, but they are still pretty good.

The "Cajun Blaze" was OUTSTANDING and you could top it off with a TJ Cinnamon roll for dessert!
Speaking of places shut down, does anyone remember Bonus Burger, which was where Popeye's (S.College@Pinhook) is now? Good burger and GREAT onion rings!

I think it was funny that Krispy Kreme thought that it could open a store in Lafayette. It's not smart to compete with Meche's. Prime example of a national chain getting kicked out! _
I think that initially KK was doing great and guess what happened??? (or so I am told) Sugar Busters and South Beach Diets kept the low carbers out---I was in that number!!!!!

Go have a Cajun Burger at P.J.'s Grill in Crowley - it's nearly the same, including the grilled onions. Peter worked for the Moodys and Burger Tyme.

I think he also has something similar to the Crawfish Tyme.

yeah, and way back when, you could write a personal check for your burgers and fries. that was some burger joint, what with their dollar burger specials.

I'm sure it is, but I was there Sunday and we were not impressed. I bought a burger. The patti was about half the size of the bun and wasn't even round like it should be, and there were like 15 fries. The only thing they got right were the 2 for one margaritas, which did make the food not seem as bad.

HOPS closed WAAAYYYY before the chilis opened across the street from it... chilis across the street has not been there for more than 7 years and HOPS closed down around 10 years from now. i was working at Posados for almost a year when the chilis opened up across the street and HOPS had been closed down for years. And i have worked in restaurants for 9 years now and not all of them have problems because they are a chain. most restaurants have problems because their are toooo many darn restaurants in lafayette and most of them way to close to each other. Business was great at posados for the first 6-7 years after opening and everytime a new restaurant opens, EVERY other restaurant suffers for a couple months until the "honeymoon" phase goes away...Before Picante closed a couple months ago, there were 7 tex-mex style restaurants within a mile around the mall area. Posados has been were they are for 12 years, casa ole has been there a while and Tampicos has been there many years, picante was dumb for opening up right next door to a mexican restaurant, they were never busy since they opened. Every restaurant is struggling in its own way, cut backs, new owners, and always new management. but, im always a fan of the local stores and it stinks when one who supports the cajuns so strongly go away. hopefully another baja pops up or another bar near cajun field opens and supports the cajuns 10000%. and i am also not a fan of chilis menu at all, it is really terrible. you can order 5 different types of fajitas, 5 different burgers, or get 5 different salads. i usually get appetizers cause meals arent worth it... thats just my 2 cents on this thread...
