Re read the game thread. Several were ____ting on Dez and the team then when were coming back they ____ on the music and the crowd, then when won it was just us getting fortunate.

And the play calling thing. If we gain yardage, good play call. If we don’t bad play call, and never poor execution or good defense. This may or may not apply to you, but I’ll bet most of those saying that couldn’t begin to explain why the play calling was good or bad.

I had a grandmother who asked why they always ran where the people were. That’s what I think of when I hear bad play calling.

Did he do that the whole game? You said we won in spite. Yet somehow we scored 54. What was the defense doing during that series? Did our line do their job? Did the QB change to a run because he misread the defense?

Maybe you are right it was bad play calls every time.

I mean from my outside perspective, it seems like coaching malpractice. And I really like Des. Beale has never shown anything promising in a game. Big credit to Lunch being ready.

Let’s let him play a game start to finish before we start talking like that. I’m pretty sure the coaches knew he was talented but obviously there’s something they’ve seen in 3 years of practice that determined the decision. I’d be willing to bet he’s the starter next week. If not, then yes. Coaches aren’t being responsible.

I did not say bad play calling "every time". Nor did I say bad play calling "the whole game". That is you jumping to an extreme.
A Div 1A coach who wants to (and is paid to do so -so he is EXPECTED to) WIN every game he coaches, has to be as close to perfecting his play calling ALL GAME. 10, 20, Heck even 30% of calls being "bad" or regrettable will not lose the game.
Thus, GOOD play calling at least 70% of the time will PROBABLY win games. Can I do that ? HELL NO. But if I am a Div 1A coach expected to win every game, I have to figure it out and make it to that level.
That is what I have been saying (writing on this forum) for 3 hours.
