This could have been a time where Beale could have been angry with the benching or Lunch could have made it about himself, neither did, they both know that they are not bigger than the team. Great moment, that is about leadership and support right there. Proud of both young men and how they reacted to this situation.

And until this Saturday, neither had Lunch

Obviously I’m not talking about what the coach says.

The 3rd and 13 completion to Robertson for 16 yards on the drive that tied the score at 34 was significant for Lunch. It was the first completion for positive yards in his college career. He had one completion for negative yards at Missouri prior to that. Therefore, the point that he had not shown anything prior to Saturday is valid. That got him going as the long pass to Robertson followed shortly thereafter. That situation reminds me of a basketball player who makes a free throw and suddenly starts hitting from the field. Seeing the ball go in just causes a positive mentality shift. Same thing could have happened to Lunch after his first completion. Now he may play confidently going forward as he will not have to worry about getting pulled. That allows you to get into a rhythm.

He sure did settle in after that. The two TD passes were beautiful, as pretty as they could have been.

5 TD in the second half for the 20T W.

    Excellent work.

Great to see Lunch perform and lead us going forward.

But, we gave up 51 points. Our defense is really suspect. Our D Line gets pushed around, our LB seem to be always out of position and DB are missing tackles.

Our DC needs to get his sheet together.
