When quarterback Lunch Winfield took over with 6:55 left in the third quarter, down 34-17, many Cajuns fans were unfamiliar with the redshirt sophomore.

Then he led the Cajuns on six consecutive scoring drives. The final one coming on a 10-yard touchdown run in double overtime to complete the 54-51 comeback win over Marshall.

An idle week couldn’t have come at a better time for Louisiana football, as it's still reeling from its Sun Belt Conference opener.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (2-3) had every excuse to lose last week against Marshall, with injuries boiling over, a two-game losing streak and a 17-point deficit to overcome in the second half. None of that mattered, though, as they stormed back to snag their second win of the season.

Hope it's nothing a couple of weeks off therapy can take care of.

Great to see Lunch perform and lead us going forward.

But, we gave up 51 points. Our defense is really suspect. Our D Line gets pushed around, our LB seem to be always out of position and DB are missing tackles.

Our DC needs to get his sheet together.

We also played against a team that had the SB player of the week and national honor last week, just like Lunch did this week. You have to give them some credit; they have a good offense.

Wonder if, like Jake Delhomne, he’s not a great practice guy but different on the field. Just hope he can be more like Levi the rest of the year.

D Line is hot garbage.

Most underperforming area on the team.

Yes. They were expected to be the strength of the defense, especially in pass defense and they've been run over all season thus far.
