What was supposed to be a bounce-back game in Week 4 for Louisiana football turned into a morale-killing loss against Eastern Michigan.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (1-3) found its offense again, but defensively couldn’t contain the Eagles’ offense while always committing a season-high 10 penalties in the 34-31 loss. The uncomplimentary style of ball leaves heaps of things for head coach Michael Desormeaux and his staff to clean up heading into Sun Belt Conference play.

The news keeps getting worse for the UL offense.

On Monday afternoon, coach Michael Desormeaux revealed the Ragin’ Cajuns will be without the services of starting right tackle George Jackson and key backup J’Marion Gooch.

On Monday evening, Desormeaux confirmed LSU transfer wide receiver Shelton Sampson will be out 4-6 weeks with a torn hamstring. That’s on top of wide receiver Rob Williams suffering a “really bad concussion” in Saturday’s 34-31 loss at Eastern Michigan. He is definitely out for Saturday’s home Sun Belt opener against Marshall, if not longer.

Even with the recent injuries for Louisiana (yet considering how Marshall's roster was wiped out at the end of last season) I think Louisiana still has better continuity.

I expect Louisiana to "do a better job" this week.

Not worrying about attendance number. People are discouraged, and I understand that. I just want the people that do come out to be as loud as Hell.

Just know that it will be an absolutely beautiful Fall day on Saturday. It will be PERFECT Tailgating/Football weather. I'm going to enjoy the F out of it!
