Won't stop them at all from doing it again.
The head coach from UNT was on the radio yesterday. They are rolling right now. They asked him how does he build his roster given UNT's NIL limitations. They focus on experienced guys from FCS/DII. They don't go after "star" recruits.
If we continue to chase stars, we will always be playing catch up, wasting a lot of money we don't have.
This is turning into British soccer, except at the individual level. With FCS being EFL League 1, Our level being Championship, and the P4 being the premier league. And the players from the lower levels are looking to get promoted. I agree let’s focus on the standouts from below us rather than the relegated from above.
The other thing UNT does is run a Leach Air Raid with a QB that is deadly accurate, but is definitely not a dual threat. Those 2 things keep the big boys away for the most part. The big boys don't want to run an Air Raid, and they desperately want a dual threat QB.
“You’ve got to have a spark. You’ve got to hit your stride and go.”
Those were the words of Michael Desormeaux as his offense struggled in the early stages of the season.
Now that the euphoria of UL’s 54-51 double overtime comeback win over Marshall has had a few days to sink in, it’s about time to look forward again.
With five games under their belt and now in the middle of a bye week, exactly how much have we learned about the 2025 Ragin’ Cajuns?
The starter at Houston is not as much of a dual threat as Chriss but he's playing ahead of him. Having a true dual threat is not that important if you have all the pieces for a pocket passer that's only a decent runner. I think that's more what they're looking for.
Yes, UL redshirt senior wide receiver Dale Martin was certainly happy after the Cajuns’ come-from-behind 54-51 double overtime victory over Marshall two weeks ago.
But mostly, he was just tired and ready to take a nap.
