Napier had a solid quarterback with Levi Lewis. Desormeaux's only successful year he had solid quarterback play from Wooldridge. I doubt Napier would have done what he did if he couldn't keep a quarterback on the field.

The O-Line is the beginning and end of great quarterback play
Napier also knew how to win one score games. DES has yet to figure it out.
Napier won with the quarterback HUD recruited.
Napier showed up to a decent roster with NFL players, and all the years he was here didn’t have worry about losing them to the portal. When he left nil started and almost all our NFL talent left as well. Dez absolutely had to rebuild while dealing with the portal and our own lack of nil money. It’s a completely different sport now. Doesn’t explain this seasons terrible start. But winning 10 games a year as a g6 with almost no NIL is almost impossible. Until we get the nil budget up consistent bowl seasons would be considered success. It’s just impossible with 5-6 of your best players leaving every year.
this guy has been reading my posts all along - HUD left Napier Levi and a pretty loaded roster - Levi was as good as Louisiana’s record under his command and parlayed Napier’s tenure here into making Napier a multi millionaire out of a Sunbelt level coach - not only NIL but Napier himself gutted our roster on the way out and left it in shambles for Des - we will never again catch lightning in a bottle like we had for Levi (napier’s) years here . . .
