IKR, I bet lunch was just making up the plays as he went. Maybe he should be QB and offensive coordinator. Then we will score every possession.

Desormeaux called a great "unscripted" game.

The unscripted portion lasted 3/8 of regulation and two overtimes.

No turbine, Dez gets no credit. All the success was purely Lunch making up the plays himself. Duh.

Same discussion as in our current politics
    One extreme to the other.
I guess there is simply no grey area.
    Yes Des is a genius
    No Des is an idiot.
    Can't just be
"Des is not dumb, but either he is not learning from his past play calling mistakes or he is too stubborn to admit it - resulting in doubling down on bad hands "

The fair argument is that Dez has made mistakes, but also has had to deal with an extraordinary number of injuries to starters. One weakness I see is he seems to put a lot of weight on seniority and pecking order after camp. Last night a bunch of kids with little experience played due to injuries and maybe performance, and they played great. I wonder if that’s why Lunch wasn’t 2nd string and starter sooner.

Remember it’s you who said we won in spite of play calling. Which as extreme a position as I can think of.

And Dez has clearly improved, as shown by our record last year. I doubt he forgot over the summer, but every team and set of challenges are different. He has to deal with far more injuries than Napier.

If lunch made up his own plays that would be a very "Independent" move..... Independent = Winning
