Based on the misfire of announcing the start of the west side (on national tv no less), the current fiscal issues on campus, and the state inability to grasp their own fiscal issues, I don’t see this happening as advertised.
I do appreciate the fact UL, if the east side happens as advertised, UL will basically have a new stadium, abet piecemeal, compared to pre 2000.
UL cannot go to the state and ask for a bailout for the university and then turn around and ask for sports infrastructure money. The “sportsball” crowd would rise up.
