$33 million more for TSAB library, not exactly doing more with less, maybe we should have had $25 M more to begin with.
Thought athletics gives money back to academics over there.
    Dont alumni donate for libraries?

Wonder if Louisiana has a similar law?

Below from J. Luke LeBlanc in January. All under control. Nothing to see here. Please move along.
I remember reading this and thinking we were in good hands. Guess not.

That article made me mad, specifically the referenced Savoie interview made me upset.

I was against selling the horse farm for pennies of its real worth, and now land acquisitions is the future?

Come on, land was the future then.

Again, Jerry Luke learned his fiscal trade from the likes of John Alario.

I know this thread focuses on the athletic shortfall. However, the entire university is going to be impacted. Today's Advocate says the shortfall is 25 million university wide. At least the interim president is having townhalls with campus staff to describe the problem and solicit solutions. I have a family member who is a professor on campus. She just found out she will have to pay for an important out of town conference out of her own pocket. That is after being awarded a grant for the trip which included the travel and lodging cost. That is just a small example of how serious this situation is. Of course raising revenue is a must for athletics. However, I think some other expense reductions will be needed. I would not be surprised if we reduce the no. of "analysts" on the football staff. Right now each position coach has one working for them. I could see that being reduced to 1 for 2 position coaches. Next time there are football openings, you may end up with 2 money games and only 5 home games. As much as you guys will complain, don't be surprised to see basketball have some non D1 games again. You pay Loyola 15 grand to come here vs 50 to 60 grand for SWAC type schools. I would expect basketball to play more money road games as well and not to participate in those MTE's which give us extra games. I also think baseball and softball will play some non D1 home games as well. Tough message here but unless we get a true athletic sugar daddy willing to provide us millions and not hundreds of thousands, we will have no choice but to make some of the moves I describe here.

"accommodate a $250 million reduction across all systems"

$25 million shortfall is in the ballpark.

You must be at least 95% done by now
