That was totally embarrassing. There might be a couple of brilliant head coaches that can also call their own plays. Des ain’t one of those.
Just not our year this year. The talent level at receiver and QB has dropped significantly. Even a healthy Walker was not going to be equal to what we had before at QB.
Dabo, Mike Gundy, and CMD might be the same guy.
Once NIL arrived, the game changed and these guys resisted the change.
I hope CMD resistance was due to limited resources from the administration and he was just providing cover.
We now know we don't have a good football team. Talent and bad coaching would beat Rice, McNeese, and EMU.
We are only a month in, but CMD may have to make some tough changes to turn this around.
I wanna talk about schools like ULM, or San Jose St. etc.
I can handle losing. I think programs like ours have to go through cycles of rebuilding. What is hard for me to accept is a future where we lock ourselves into five-year contracts of failure, cater exclusively to wealthy donors, and neglect the heartbeat of the program: the fans.
We can change for the better. We can own the name, the mascot, the game day atmosphere. These aren’t cosmetic they’re foundational. They’re what build loyalty, identity, and pride.
But if we keep losing, keep ignoring the average fan, and keep pretending that donor dollars alone can sustain relevance, we’re not just treading water we’re drifting toward the fate of programs like ULM Forgotten. Hollow. Irrelevant.
That is my warning!
