not necessarily - you have to crawl before you can walk - every additional year of success provides another opportunity for a whale to come out of the woodworks who could and would agree to a continued support money - maybe thereafter through NIL support - but it still stands as an unknown and Louisiana has yet to pant or transplant that money tree . . .

Napier was at $2 million, he was offered $3.1million and didn't stay. Money always seems to be found when they leave.

Who knows if Napier would have success here in this new paradigm. He definitely would have completely different conditions. His lack of success at Florida hints he may have struggled here as well had he had to deal with this new version of professional college football. I never did see him as a fantastic in game coach. He accumulated talent well, organized well and had a hell if a lot of good luck.

Along with others that transfered. If NIL were around when Billy was here he would have lost top talent to the portal. If he were here now he’d be coaching in the same boat at Dez. Comparing Billy and mikes in game coaching is fine, but comparing the overall job between the 2 is apples and oranges. Please don’t give me that “ players wouldn’t leave after a 10 win season if Billy were here” BS
    Yep!

Conditions might be similar but Billy brought talent here. Period. He brought the type of talent and athletes that could compete with some P4 teams. He also found a way to bring excellent coaches here. Any winning Mike has done has been with past Napier players and much of last year included. I'm sure Napier would have lost some players as it is a revolving door nowadays BUT he would have gotten his share here as well.

No clue if we can or will win vs 0-3 EMU. Pretty sad statement considering this is an EMU team that lost to LIU. I had to look up who LIU was....never heard of this football team prior.

Glass half full.....I predict we win 9-7

No team in America has a worse passing attack than UL. Teams that rarely pass have batter stats than us. But are we LIU bad? We will soon know.

HUD left lots of talent here for Napier - Napier left with the best talent from here and left the cubbards bare for Des . . . and Des also had to deal with raiding from other big time teams with plenty NIL money

    True.

    Those are big differences.
