Good point, ergo you cant say someone that drops too many is the worser WR ever, the worst WR ever would never even have the ball thrown to them

  3. UL Football First win achieved, Ragin' Cajuns shift attention Missouri

Before discussing any details about any strategies, potential problem areas or even a Top 25 road opponent, UL coach Michael Desormeaux wanted to make something clear Monday.

He fully appreciated how his Ragin’ Cajuns responded to a disappointing 14-12 loss to Rice in the season opener.

There are still concerns, but addressing those with a 1-1 record instead of 0-2 coming off a loss to McNeese State are two very different things.

  4. UL Football Cajuns look ahead to No. 25 Mizzou after victory over McNeese

Bill Davis ran for two touchdowns on Saturday night and had 132 of Louisiana’s 315 yards rushing to help the Ragin’ Cajuns beat McNeese 34-10.

Zylan Perry ran for 94 yards on 14 carries and Steven Blanco had 69 yards rushing, including a 34-yard touchdown that capped the scoring with 1:39 to play.

Davis opened the scoring about two minutes into the game with a 2-yard TD run and added a 36-yarder with 1:06 remaining in the second quarter that made it 14-7 and gave Louisiana (1-1) the lead for good.

    Like maybe an alternate theory.

Explain why almost every QB off the UL bench thrust into duty can't hit the side of barn or why they have zero touch on the ball, then if given enough reps almost all regain form of function.
No, you don't get to throw out some BS reason why we don't seem to recruit or develop good quarterbacks and claim its some sort of weight room issue that you have no way of proving otherwise. It is not my duty to somehow prove you are wrong. It's your duty, when making BS claims, to prove you are correct.

I've mention how I did various intense workouts in my 20s where I lost a measure of coordination in arms and legs for a couple days

I've shown how tearing your muscle can remove muscle memory that needs to be regained.

My limited theory is way more sound than hiding behind "not my duty" "your wrong"

Rotating your workouts so the muscle can build back stronger does not mean the new, muscle will know everthing the torn muscle knew. The new muscle's reaction to the exact same brain signal will be different and not accurate.

We are talking about finesse moves like receiving and throwing.

We are not refering to grunt moves like a lineman pushing off with arms and legs. Not leg burst of a running back. Not stiff arm.

We are trying to figure out how a QB that could once throw soft or hard can now only throw hard whether it's a 5 yard pass or a 20 yard pass.

For QBs and receivers, the time to get stronger is in the offseason.

If they quit tearing down their arm muscles as the season approaches (and just do toning) and instead focus on throwing repetitions of all varities, the accuracy of the throws and the catches will increase.

Our previous starter is currently in the NFL.

DB was offered by Houston, Memphis, Colorado State and Tech.

Do you have inside information where you know the nature and timing of QBs weight routines? Do you think our weight program is significantly different than all the QBs that were accurate last week? When our QBs are accurate do you think it’s because they are skipping their prescribed weight programs?

His accuracy issues vs HS most likely stem from a breakdown in mechanics due to the increased speed of the game at this level. Hoping that improves with reps during practice as the starter and experience. I expect another rough week this week. But hopefully we start seeing improvement when we start playing peer schools again and he’s had several weeks under his belt as starter.

Its a pattern, we have almost always seen accuracy and proper velocity improvements as the season progresses (I think) it is due to getting more throwing/catching reps in-season compared to the offseason regimin.

I don't know their exact regimin in the offseason but I have seen and heard brags in the past about how much more they can bench press etc.

    That tells me their focus.

Once the season starts there simply isn't as much time for the weight room. You may be right peer play could also be a factor.

I just know there will be lights out passing games before the year is out.

Default Re: Daniel Beale to make first start

Ok, so admittedly, I was rather harsh on Beale on posting during the game. I pretty much was amazed that his accuracy was so off to say the least. So far, this is all we've seeing from him, in the few appearances that he has made in UL games. Maybe, just maybe, he's very nervous, or he's rushing the throw, causing his mechanics to be way off. At some point, he needs to settle down and show some sign of being able to do what QB's do. He's our only hope for the year apparently, so I hope he can improve quickly. Good luck Beale.
