A new week means new opportunity for Louisiana football, which is itching to get back on the field after Week 1’s 14-12 loss at home vs Rice.
“It’s either blood in the water, and you’re kind of floundering around, or you got punched in the mouth and you come out the corner swinging,” UL football coach Michael Desormeaux said. “That’s the two choices that you have, and I know what this team is about so I’m excited to get moving on the next one.”
If Beale is our QB then we will lose by 21. If someone else, we will lose by 3. Sorry, we are bad from coach to players.
Don’t disagree but will add what a psychology professor who enjoys football told me about the two point conversion. He loves analytics as data but talked about morale post touchdown (high success) and extra point (success but much lower impact). So if you make an extra point kicking you add to the high success you’ve achieved. If you make two point conversion you’ve ratcheted it up significantly more. If you fail at two point conversion you’ve lowered your emotional level and raised the morale of the other team. They’ve given up a touchdown but they have now stopped the opposing team.
These aren’t his exact words but my understanding of his analysis. Maybe explains why I’ve always preferred late in game 2 point conversions. When not made it just seems like we’re always trying to catch up.
But as noted, didn’t have an affect on final outcome or opportunity to win at the end of the game.
Not that I’ve ever gotten a prediction right before, but I’m afraid we will be 0-3 coming back from Missouri.
