The "general college fan" view is decent in this scenario. As the tsab game was on a network, i.e. "free antenna tv" and the only one as such in this particular instance, in that timeslot, but if the club in the future has to pay to show them or otherwise go out of their way to find/stream/etc, hopefully that would be frowned upon

But a thread about which games are chosen by which networks maybe could gain ground. It is extremely counterintuitive to give the schools with the larger fanbases willing to spend more, "the free games" and make those struggling, pay more. Another thread for another day i suppose

While it doesn't bother me, there is not one suite owner on the planet that would be unaware that airing silver spoon games it might offend some.

Are we are trying to attract football fans? How many of the football fans that we are trying to attract are die hard UL fans or even UL grads? As a football fan, you are going to have interest in other games besides the UL game. We are wringing our hands trying to attract new fans and yet we want to set rules and parameters for people that actually attend the games and, in this case, spend a boat load of money for our athletic department. As a football fan, there was great interest in the #5 team playing # 9 team in the country. If you don't want to watch it, then don't watch it. You don't get better by eliminating competition. What we need to do is create an environment and have a team that people want to be around and support. We need to have a team that commands attention. There were times Saturday that, as a football fan, I wanted to watch something else.

I agree. As a football fan I was very interested in the game. As a Cajuns fan I when 2 teams are playing I usually say which one of these schools has never done anything to intentionally hold my school back. That is the school I typically cheer for.

Just because LSU doesn't recognize our athletic branding doesn't means folks who pull for both programs and attend our games don't. You seen our budget problems? Struggles just to hire a softball pitching coach?

I'm good with them handing over money in exchange for tickets to Cajun Field.
