Thread: 'A hair off': UL football drops season opener vs Rice with QB Walker Howard's late exit

  1. UL Football 'A hair off': UL football drops season opener vs Rice with QB Walker Howard's late exit

Louisiana football didn’t expect to be shell-shocked in its first game of the 2025 football season in new Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium vs. Rice.

If a 14-12 loss to the Owls wasn’t bad enough, the Ragin Cajuns’ starting quarterback Walker Howard exited the game with an unknown injury. The dual-threat slinger went down with no contact and was able to limp off the field on his own, but didn’t return to the game.

For me a 14-13 loss would feel more like "a hair off" 14-12 feels like a lot of work to do.

Going for 2 that early was not the right message for in my opinion.

Not the right message for your own team.

ps If they had made it I would be singing a different tune, but I have never liked going for two till you actually need in a "game on the line" situation.

Now that college sports are a business, I’d say Cajun football is going into chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Also #6 WR, is on his way to being the worse WR in Cajun history, those catchable drops were pathetic. Then you have back to back holding penalties
on punt returns, how pathetic. The hype on the OLINE, is pure BS.
YOU saw the game, let’s be real. If the only schools we can beat are FCS and Sunbelt schools, I won’t spend my money on that. We aren’t progressing, we’re regressing. Been following this program since’66, tired of mediocrity.

#6, ooops, maybe with the portal it is better to give than to receive after all

Spent two years at LSU before entering the transfer portal in December of 2024 ... appeared in 11 games with one start (vs. Nicholls in 2024) … did not record any statistics during his two years at LSU

He does have problems holding onto the ball. You have to catch the damn ball.

With that being said he is the best technical route runner we’ve had since Fred Stamps. If he caught balls like Stamps he wouldn’t be here.
