O-line was pushed backwards a lot. A new backup QB needs to be found. Catching was horrendous. Play calling was bad as usual.
Positive: Kicker is solid!
Heard from brother in law that the stadium was nice. Production value for the game was bad.

…I thought that Rice had as creative an offense as I have seen….Veer, Zone read, power sweep……think many college and HS staffs will visit Rice to learn the offense…..no wonder this coach has had as successful a career as his record shows!
I'm watching our game again and if you wanna see how bad Shelton was last night, watch the replay. WH persisted again and again and again targeting him. It got so bad that Samson in the 4th qtr. visibly couldn't believe his self!
Did they have a band? Didnt they used to have a band that ran around crazy instead of marching
Don't worry I wasn't gonna forget the JMV assessment of "it's the end of Cajuns Athletics as we know it". 72.9% of seats sold. In my book, not too shabby. I went back and watched the replay as well and clearly the drone was in the air and showed a lot of open space, but that's because everyone has to wonder around and go to the hill and show up late as hell. Sure it wasn't as good as I wanted to see it, but being there, even the roll up to the Swamp was f'n awesome. It was electric and a new day for Louisiana. I'm pumped up, Stadium is incredible and we are on the war path to Greatness. Time to realize how many minds are working on this.
LFG
I remember back in 1982, the USL Band, with me in it, went to Houston for the first time to play RICE. Their band, at that time, reminded me of Stanford's band, running out on the field in bathing suits with masks and snorkels. They did a Beach Boys show. Then they yelled at us, calling us a "high school" band.
Yes we had a new stadium, but TX State and Tulane(who had a P4 team) had similar crowds. around 21K-22K. I think that is about the max G5 football draws and should be considered a good crowd.
