Lots to unpack.
Positives are the renovations look great. The defense figured out the option in the second half. And it didn’t rain
Negatives? The hype. Not sure how it all came about but most bought into it. I did too.
The QB and receiver play was the worst it’s been under Des. They had no clue and for an offensive minded coach, how do you explain that after months to prepare?
With the ball and a chance to win, I wanted so badly for Beale to get some redemption. Just get some yards and get a FG. Complete a pass and hopefully we break one. Dude went 0-6.
While I picked us to win, I always think of worst case scenarios. Can’t help myself. What needs to happen for the game to go sideways? Last night, seemed like everything I thought of played out. Feel good about what we’ve been told about this team, but what if the offense is out of sync? What if we turn the ball over? What if Rice has success running the ball and controls the clock? Check, check and check. Just watch and shake your head.
I was there. You're not being objective. Capacity is 30k. Plenty empty endzone seats, east side. My season tickets are in 126, next sections over were basically empty.
As for the new Cajuns beer, well, $2 Natty, we miss you. New Cajuns beer is more than GITM. A $20 bill gets you two 12oz. cans. A $20 bill back when we were in the Top 25 would damn near get you a 12 pack. Imagine going back to your seat with a 12 pack.
Now that college sports are a business, I’d say Cajun football is going into chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Also #6 WR, is on his way to being the worse WR in Cajun history, those catchable drops were pathetic. Then you have back to back holding penalties
on punt returns, how pathetic. The hype on the OLINE, is pure BS.
YOU saw the game, let’s be real. If the only schools we can beat are FCS and Sunbelt schools, I won’t spend my money on that. We aren’t progressing, we’re regressing. Been following this program since’66, tired of mediocrity.
