    Miami's moniker isn't the ibis and Tulane's moniker isn't the pelican. Yet they use both with great success.

    We weren't ever a flaming phallic shaped pepper either and a caricature of a "Cajun" would never be approved in today's PC culture.

    That being said, we still could use a mascot to help connect with young kids

    Albino is the key to the future whatever you call it or refuse to call it, whether it is officially adopted or becomes of first nature organically - there is so much which can be done with it besides the fact that it screams LOUISIANA - any of you that attended Governor Landry’s alligator hunt would change their minds about how powerful the alligator together with Louisiana could be . . . we already have them on campus - JUST RUN WITH IT

    I’m all on board for a gator mascot for UL. It just makes perfect sense for Louisiana.
