The old Charity hospital in New Orleans has a central tower that extends up higher than the rest of it. There are on-call rooms inside (formerly 'resident' rooms, because originally residents resided in the hospital) and on the top floor is a half-sized basketball court. Sometimes after working all night, we would go up there with coffee; you could climb out on to the parapet and look out over the city, while you let your coffee do its magic.

There is also a basketball court on the top floor of the US Supreme Court. It is called 'The Highest Court in the Land.'

LUMCON. We founded it, with the idea that all the universities would share it.

We played our hand badly, and it is largely under LSU's control now. We still get to use it some.

That really ticks me off every time I think about it.
