That can be good if they are more technically sound. Fat guys that can't move their feet are a dime a dozen

Tell us more about the Advance Team. Is it a group of ex players or is it major donors to football.

I was introduced to the Advance Team by Eric Crozier. This group started out putting some donations together to give to the coaches, Hudspeth era. The money was distributed to the staff with the intent of giving their families a vacation trip before the grind of the football season.

The amount was and is $1K.

When Billy got here, he said he preferred the money go to buying the players a suit or jacket/slacks. This provides the players the proper start to their careers after football. The players pick the colors and a tailor gets the measurements. The result is what you see during the Cajun walk coming into the game. They wear there suits to all away games too.

Only players on scholarship get this gift. We usually raise about $40K a year.

There are a few ex players, but mostly local biz men. There is a get together before the season with all the staff and the donors. I started giving when Billy started the suit-em-up program.

Coach Des is a huge proponent of this and told us it actually helps in recruiting. The Moms love to hear about this program!

I never get to the games early enough for the Cajun walk (in recent years) .
The suits are impressive and very professional. Definitely an upgrade from the Reebok wind suits we had back in the day.
Based on the comment about only scholarship players- Do the walk ons wear suits as well?

The walk-ons are dressed similarly, but on their own dime. I imagine those that can' afford to dress that way may be able to "borrow" from one of older players who have been with the team for a while and have several suits to share. Of course, the fit may not be tailored looking but I bet this happens some of the time.
