I think went off the deep end there. I don’t think many in NSF even know of the NCAA. I love UL athletics but other than entertainment and maybe attracting some students it plays much smaller role know. Especially in STEM programs. Sorry but true. And falling fast.

Actually, I’m disagreeing with you on R1. Research grants have little to do with athletic recognition in my opinion. The name change made a difference and selected research by some amazing researchers here did the rest. Along with solid admin support with T-Joe. I think student might take notice but less and less athletics is attracting the kids we get. In STEM programs
